collective unconscious
Dear friends.
Behold, and welcome to (certain aspects of!) my inner world, as it has been translated into, or now appears in the forms of this website. It is the end result of (well, at least a point of pause and reflection) a long period of sorting out many years worth of archival material, (audio and visual recordings, reviews, texts, etc) the archiving of my compositional work, contextualising albums (some almost forgotten, others imminent), funding applications, completion of legal/organisational obligations, (the shit/weeping sores of a creative life that never seem to cease) etc…. a life-review in effect.
It was a lot trickier and subtler a process to engage in than I initially thought, but, once begun, forced me to sort through and categorise the (on some levels) seemingly random paths a life/I (?) have followed. This process simultaneously facilitated the letting go of some of the past vehicles and forms which, though once meaningful had become increasingly … unnecessary, … or maybe just inapplicable. Anyway, whatever, I am now in a better position to re-envision my creative path, as well as facilitate the various upcoming works/projects that, as an expression of my inner…um, er, …necessities I am in the process of …realising, …creating, ….? (as we all know, life is short, and always getting …. (gulp) shorter, a day at a … (gasp) time!!)
Well, be that all as it may, the website is now at a point where it needs to be subjected to critical review by outside eyes and ears. As such, I invite you, if you have the time, and/or inclination, to comment on, and/or critique (or simply express feelings of pure and unrestrained delight and joy!) any issues of style, content, legal, or simply(!!) technical problems you may encounter, so that Sean Cox (my able and enthusiastic web-site designer/facilitator) and I can address before opening the site to the world (however that may be conceived) -at-large.
If you could do this via the reply box/field at the bottom of this page, it would also help us get a sense of how this system as a whole will work (and, frankly be gratifying inasmuch as it would help validate and maybe justify some of the effort and major techno-mindfuck nature involved in this undertaking/movement into the 21stC!)
[A special note to performers/creatives appearing in these pages: I am trying to be rigorous and clear in all attributions and acknowledgements, if there are any oversights, please let me know asap.]
Many (virtual) thanks in advance. Rom. 4/5/09

Romano,
I like the simple uncluttered monochromatic style. Let’s you focus on the content, and is calming on the eye.
Ok, in no particular order – here is my feedback on the site:
- the order of items on the main menu is alphabetical. The Home item which is normally at the top, is in the middle
- suggest putting a simpler copyright statement on the lower gray bar that appears on every page, replacing the ‘Neutralis Theme……..’ statement [which has no value or meaning in this context]
- On Film Scores’ there are no videos appearing [I'm using Firefox]
- there is inconsistency between the various ‘read more’ links – ‘for more’, ‘Click HERE…’, ‘More info…’, ‘Read More’ etc
- the pictures on Discography seem too small. Going to the next page, the pictures are not much larger. Would suggest making them larger on both pages.
- The Contact Me page formatting and menu is all messed up.
- There are inconsistencies with the use of fonts, font sizes, heading fonts & sizes, use of bullet points, line spacing, paragraph spacing, underlining and text justification throughout the site. Underlining is normally only used for hypelinks
- In Music Groups the pictures are out of alignment
- I noticed that ‘New Gen Philarmonic’ is on the main menu AND under Music Groups, is this intentional?
- Recent Projects – I would suggest reverse chronological order [like a CV]. Normal convention.
- Website Credits – the text is out of alignment
- Works Listing – apart from the various text formatting and alignment problems, there is a large heading ‘Music For Kids’ that appears half way through, left-justified, which suggests that the rest of the page is all under that heading. Is this right?
- Should the colour of the green ‘back’ arrow be changed to make it inconsistent with the design theme?
Overall, it is very good. You’re nearly there. I’m looking forward to the launch! When is it going to be?

I really like it!
When I first logged on I thought it looked a little stark, but the style of the site grew on me and as the person who commented previously said, its quite calming. It looks as if most of what was suggested has already been implemented, so i found everything worked well, the pages loaded quickly and all the info was relevant and to the point.
Really great to hear from you after such a long time and I’m so glad you are still flying the flag for Creativity and Spontaneity. Please keep me in the loop.
